4.1 Connecting the Device to Your Vehicle
The MUCAR CS90 connects to your vehicle via the OBDII port, also known as the Data Link Connector (DLC). This is a standard 16-pin port where diagnostic tools interface with the vehicle's onboard computer.
- Locating the DLC: In most vehicles, the DLC is typically found within 12 inches (approximately 30 cm) of the center of the dashboard, usually under or around the driver's side.
- 备选地点: If the connector is not under the dashboard, a label might indicate its location. In some Asian and European vehicles, the DLC may be located behind the ashtray, which might need to be removed for access.

- Turn the Vehicle Ignition On: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned to the ON position. It is not necessary to start the engine.
- Automatic Device Start: The MUCAR CS90 will automatically power on and boot into the Android system once connected.
- Language and Wi-Fi Setup: After the Android system starts, you will be prompted to set the language and connect to a Wi-Fi network.

The MUCAR CS90 offers a range of functions accessible from its main interface:
5.1 诊断
This is the primary diagnostic function. You can access it in two ways:
- Automatic VIN Scan: The device automatically scans the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to identify the vehicle's make, model, and year, then loads the appropriate diagnostic software.
- Regional Model Filtering: Manually select car models by region to access specific diagnostic software for fault diagnosis.
5.2 OBD Functions
The OBD function supports all 10 modes of OBD II and EOBD protocols for vehicles manufactured from 1996 onwards. These functions help in comprehensive engine system diagnostics:
- Mode 1: Read Live Data Stream: Displays continuous data stream information from the ECU/PCM in real-time, often with graphical (waveform) representation.
- Mode 2: Read Freeze Frame Data: Stores a snapshot of operating conditions at the moment a fault code was set.
- Mode 3: Read DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes): Shows detailed descriptions of current Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
- Mode 4: Clear DTCs: Clears fault codes from the vehicle's computer and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (军用)。
- Mode 5: Oxygen Sensor Monitoring: 从车辆车载电脑中检索最近完成的 O2 传感器监测测试结果。
- Mode 6: System Monitoring: Retrieves results of on-board diagnostic monitoring tests for specific components/systems.

- Mode 8: Control Operation of On-Board System: Allows control of on-board system components or tests.
- Mode 9: Read Vehicle Information: Retrieves vehicle information such as VIN, Calibration ID (CALID), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- Mode 10: Request Emissions-Related Diagnostic Trouble Codes with Permanent Status: Requests emissions-related DTCs with permanent status after a clear/reset of emission-related diagnostic information.

5.3 Maintenance Services (28 Reset Functions)
The Maintenance menu provides access to 28 commonly used maintenance and reset functions to assist with regular vehicle upkeep. These services are crucial for maintaining vehicle performance and safety:
- 油Lamp 重置服务: Allows you to perform reset for a new calculation of Engine Oil Life system once changed the oil.
- 电子驻车制动器复位 (EPB): It is important in the maintenance of electronic braking system's safety and efficiency.
- BAT电池服务: Allows the scan tool to evaluate the battery charge state, monitor the close-circuit current, register the battery replacement, and activate the rest state of the vehicle.
- DPF柴油颗粒过滤器重置: Specially works for Diesel Particulate Filter system with DPF regeneration, DPF component replacement teach-in and DPF teach-in after replacing the engine control unit.
- SAS转向角传感器重置: Helps clear the fault steering angle sensor memories and plays an important role in the steering angle sensor calibration.
- 胎压监测系统重置: Makes sense in displaying sensor IDs from the vehicle's ECU, inputting TPMS sensor replacement IDs and testing sensors.
- 防盗钥匙编程: The unique car key programming and read pin code function, it is mainly used to disable the lost vehicle keys and program a new replacement key fob.

- 变速箱(传动装置)重置: Procedure Reset Transmission Adaptive Learning DIY. Start the car and drive. Once you perform this procedure the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Transmission Control Unit (TCU) will work together to learn how you drive by monitoring your driving pattern. After you follow this programming method of the TCU / ECU drive the car.
- AFS Headlamp 复位: 'AFS' means Adaptive Front lighting System (at night with the Bi-Xenon headlights) it swivels either side, pressing that button means they stay pointing straight ahead and don't turn when you turn the steering wheel.
- 喷油器编码: Leaking injectors and some dead injectors can be missed even when an injector is disabled. Other problems with the ignition system and mechanical components also may not show an rpm loss when an injector is turned off.
- 节气门自适应: The throttle body is a tube containing a pivoting flat valve (butterfly) that is used to control the amount of air entering an engine. In an electronically fuel injected car, a throttle position sensor and air flow sensor communicate with the computer, which supplies the corresponding amount of fuel needed at the injectors. It must need re-learning throttle sensor position after clearing or repair.
- 齿轮学习: The scan tool monitors certain camshaft position sensors signals to determine if all conditions are met to continue with the procedure for Engine running.
- EGR重置: Reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gas and improve fuel economy at partial load.

- AT学习: This function can complete the gearbox self-learning to improve gear shifting quality. When the gearbox is disassembled or repaired (after some of the car battery is powered off), it will lead to shift delay or impact problem. In this case, this function needs to be done so that the gearbox can automatically compensate according to the driving conditions so as to achieve more comfortable and better shift.

- Nox传感器重置: Nox sensor is a sensor used to detect the content of nitrogen oxides (Nox) in engine exhaust. If the Nox fault is re-initialized and the Nox catalytic converter is replaced, it is necessary to reset the catalytic converter learned value stored in the engine Ecu.
- ODO重置: a) ODO reset is to copy, write, or rewrite the value of kilometers in the chip of odometer by using a car diagnostic computer and data cable, so that the odometer shows the actual mileage. b) Usually when the mileage is not correct due to the damaged vehicle speed sensor or odometer failure, it is necessary to do ODO reset after maintenance.
